Quito Terrace | Ecuador

Updated: Jul 18, 2023

This place is 10 out of 10 for digital nomads traveling through Quito, Ecuador. Most importantly the hostel is run by a Korean family and they are the nicest people I have ever met.

Amenity

The best part of this hostel is the rooftop terrace. It is not just a terrace, it is like a small garden up there. You will also find there a kitchen where you can cook, a room with glass windows where you can chill or work, and a little garden area with chairs where you can relax. The best part, wifi is excellent throughout the whole place! No matter where you decide to settle and work, the wifi will be great everywhere. That is another great thing, there are so many places where to work, that is why I highly recommend this place, especially to digital nomads. Originally we booked to stay there for a few days but we ended up staying 3 weeks as we could have a very productive time working while exploring the city.

A very special thing, I have to mention is the family who owns it. The owners are the kindest people I have ever met. Every day we would have a chat and they would recommend all the best things in Quito. They also without hesitation gave us their bikes that we could use to explore the city. Whenever they were cooking lunch on the terrace they would share the food with us. They truly made us feel at home. And they have the cutest dog ever!

Location

The location is very central. It is a great location if you wish to explore many parts of the town as it is in between Old Town of Quito and the Mariscal area, which is a popular meeting point for social events and also has the artesian market offering all the local goodies. The cable car is not far off, so will be a short 10min taxi drive and a bus stop to 'Middle of the World' is very near too, so you get all the main attractions very accessible just by walking or taking a short taxi drive.

Rooms

The hostel offers dorms and private rooms. Our double bed private room was on the terrace so it made our stay very convenient. Our room was very big with an extra table. The room had air conditioning and a heater. Reception is available 24/7 so you can check in anytime in case you are arriving late.

Hotel Restaurant

Currently (April 2022) they are redoing their cafe so soon it should be available for the public with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. For now, they offer breakfast only to people staying at the hostel. The breakfast every morning was different and always amazing. During our 3 week stay, we had pancakes, waffles, local delicacies, and some of the best homemade croissants ever. There is also unlimited coffee and tea for hotel guests.

My Rating

I absolutely loved staying at Quito Terrace and recommend the place very highly to anyone, but especially those who need good wifi and ambiance to work.
