Best Cheap Eats in Cusco | Peru

Updated: Jun 25, 2023

Cusco can be a bit more pricey than other places in Peru due to many tourists visiting every day so I have put together a list of all the amazing budget-friendly food places I discovered in Cusco.

Here is a list of all the best cheap eats in Cusco I discovered during my 2-week stay there.

  1. Green Falafel

  2. Chakruna Native Burgers

  3. JC's Cafe

  4. Snack Pizzeria Saborita

  5. Kusykay

Green Falafel

Green Falafel has to be the cheapest place I discovered in Cusco! Their combo consisting of wrap, fries, and lemonade cost only 20 Soles which is around 5 USD. And let me tell you, their wrap is HUGE! Also, it is full of many different ingredients.

They also have a good offer for Pisco Sour, which is a cocktail made from Peru's traditional alcohol Pisco. It only cost 15 Soles which is around 4 USD. This was the cheapest price for Pisco Sour I ever saw in Cusco.

Vegetarian Friendly

Opening hours: Every day from 11 am to 10 pm!

Address: Local 662-B, Siete Angelitos, Cusco 08003, Peru.

Chakruna Native Burgers

Although Green Falafel is the cheapest one I found, my absolute favorite place has to be Charuna Native Burgers!

They offer 5 different veggie burgers. The most options I have ever seen! Each burger comes with salad and fries. The best part you can add many different amazing ingredients to your burger, like avocado, caramelized onions, different types of cheese, and more!

They also offer Alpaca burgers if you want to be a bit adventurous!

Vegetarian Friendly

Opening hours: Apart from Monday when they are closed, all other days they are open from 11.30 am to 10 pm.

Address: Plazoleta de San Blas 699, Cusco 08000, Peru.

JC's Cafe

Both above places are in the San Blas area. If you are staying on the other side of the main square then a good breakfast and lunch option is JC's Cafe as it offers a breakfast and lunch menu.

They have big portions, loads of different options, and tasty food!

Vegetarian Friendly

Opening hours: Every day from 8.30 am to 10 pm. Apart from Sunday when they open only at 9 am.

Address: Meloc 488, Cusco 08000, Peru.

Snack Pizzeria Saborita

In the picture you can see medium size pizzas!

Do you think you can't ruin pizza? Well you can, in Cusco for sure! I love pizza so I always try to find some good pizza places in new cities I visit but Cusco was a complete disaster until I found this place Snack Pizzeria Saborita! Their big family pizza costs only 40 Soles, which is around 10 USD and is completely enough for 2 people. It is a massive family-size pizza and tastes amazing. They also have a really good vegetarian pizza.

Vegetarian Friendly

Opening hours: Every day from 8 am to 10.30 pm, apart from Sunday when they only open at 3 pm.

Address: Ayacucho 235, Cercado de Lima 08000, Peru.

Warning! I have to warn you that despite their early opening hours, the pizzas they serve only from around 3 pm! Before that you can enjoy some Empanadas. Empanadas is a popular pastry in Spain and South America that usually is filled with meat or cheese.

Kusykay

Ok, this is not a cheap eat!! BUT it also is not extremely expensive. Why I am adding KusyKay to the list? Because the service was excellent! You really feel like in a fancy restaurant and the food is absolutely amazing. Also served in a very nice style. So I added this place because if there is one night when you want to go for a very nice dinner but still don't want to overspend then this is your place!

Also at the end, they serve you a complimentary tea!

Vegetarian Friendly

Opening hours: Every day from 12 am to 10 pm.

Address: Detrás del colegio San Francisco de Borja (mirador, waynapata 410, Cusco 08002, Peru

I hope this blog article on the best cheap eats in Cusco will save you some money and let enjoy all the good vegetarian-friendly food places!
